Four Day Gorillas and Culture Safari from Kigali

4 days / 3 nights

OVERVIEW:

If time is limited but seeing Rwanda’s mountain gorillas has been a lifelong dream of yours, our two day gorilla trekking tour puts the experience at your fingertips without breaking the bank or requiring you to commit a great deal of time.

Departing from Kigali and overnighting in Musanze, you’ll then wake refreshed for a morning gorilla trekking experience before returning to Kigali in the evening.

Home to the largest population of mountain gorillas on the planet, there is huge interest in trekking these magnificent beasts, with permits selling out virtually every day of the year. Meanwhile, there are excellent chimpanzee trekking opportunities and chances to see a dozen other primates.

With this inspiring itinerary you will see Rwanda’s great apes in their natural habitats by trekking the Virunga Mountains before heading south to the ancient Nyungwe Forest for face-to-face encounters including East Africa’s rare chimpanzee populations and troops of colobus monkeys.

If you love apes, Rwanda has to be the ultimate bucket-list destination.

There is no guarantee how long or difficult your tracking experience will be as it depends on where the family of gorillas is and on weather conditions, It can take anywhere from two up to six hours of trekking through the mountain forest at relatively high altitudes. Fitness is definitely recommended for those wishing to undertake the excursion.

You'll set off after breakfast for the drive south into Rwanda, where you'll stop in the town of Musanze for a hot lunch.
